This is the most common question being asked by our customers almost on a daily-basis.
However, before I start explaining how we should clean natural stone surfaces such as marble, limestone and granites on our floors, walls and counter tops,…. let me start answering this question with a question in order to clarify the real meaning of your question., Are you asking to know how to clean marble surfaces from general dirt & grime?
Or are you asking to know how to clean stains, etchings from marble surfaces and also make doled marble surface shinier?
If your answer is how to remove stains from marble surfaces and how to make doled marble shiner as you seen from the three pictures above, that means you would like to know how to “restore/re-finish marble surfaces” witch it is an another subject and will gladly explain “the stain removal and restoration proces for natural stones” on anothertime.
Today lets talk about “how to clean general dirt and grime from natural stone surfaces.”
Before we get into cleaning any natural stone, you must know and not forget one of the most important fact about natural stones; If it’s not all, most natural stones such as marbe, limestone, travertine, onyx are acid sencetive materials and they will react and etcehed with any acidic cleaners. So…, chose a Nutural ph balancesd cleaner made for natural stones, and use oprpiate personal portections, such as gloves, gogles, masks, etc.. for suitable to your cleaning project and locations.
To cleaning Marble Counter tops and Vanity top surfaces;
1. Pour small amount of Stone Soap directly on counter tops/vanity surfaces and add some water as you gently spreading and scrubbing the surface with a circular motion. As you scrubbing spread the soapy water solution over the counter top surface , if you have a very large counter top surface you may want to do it in sections or as long as you don’t let the soapy water to dry on the surface you can scrubb the whole counter tops. Add more soap & water as you needed, avarage kitchen counter tops needs about 12-15 minuts of scrubbing before rinsing.
Once you think you have scrubb the surface long enough, use your scueeggee to squeeze all soapy water directly into your sink or in a bucket to remove it from the surface.
2. Repeat the same proces as above without the Stone Soap. Now you are rinsing the surface. Put enough clean fresh water on the surface as you gently scrubbing and use your scueegee to remove rinsed water into your sink or bucet. You may want to dubble rins the surface to make sure all soap resues are removed.
3. Dry the surface you just cleaned by buffing it with using clean rags and towels. And you are done.
To cleaning Marble Walls/Shower Walls;
1. Mix your stone soap and water into a spray bottle and use your spray bottle to sprey the solution on the wall surface that you are cleaning. Start from buttom of the walls and work your way up as you are scrubbing. Do it one wall section at a time without leting solution to dry on the surface you are working on.
2. After enough scrubbing use your handheald shower head to rins the wall section you just scrubed. And repead the same proces on to the next sections..
3. Use your scueegee to remove remaining water-drips from walls. And use dry rags & towels to buff dry the walls and you are done.
To cleaning Marble Floors;
1. Pour small amount of Stone Soap directly on to floor surfaces and add some water as you gently spreading and scrubbing the surface. if you working on large floor area, do it small sections at a time. Work on the grout lines a litle longer. Add more soap & water as you need. Once you think you have done enough scrubbing add more water and scrubb a few munites longer. Use your Wet-Vacuum to remove the dirty water off the floor.
2. Put some clean fresh water over the are you just cleaned, and scrubb it again. Now you are rinsing the area you just cleaned. Once you have scrubed the floor with fresh water use your vacuum to remove the rinsed water. And repeat the same proces on to the next section till you have finished cleaning & rinsing all your floors.
3. Use floor fan or clean towels to buff dry the floors. And you are done.
